Crew Author and Producer Steffen Söhner was born in the southern part of Germany in 1970. He started his professional career as founder and president of a subsidiary company of the family-run automotive supply business in East Germany in 1992. From 1993 to 2001 he studied economics, politics, and sociology parallel to his job and left University with a Master Degree in sociology. After a one-year project-oriented foreign placement in the USA and participating at diverse management seminars at international business schools, he became Senior Vice President at the Headquarter of the global player in the automotive business in 2003. Two years later, he left the family business and started as an independent filmmaker and producer. His debut film “The Timebank – an economy for everyone” won the Platinum Remi Award at the Worldfest in Houston/Texas in April 2007. Cinematographer and Editor Martin Spieß, born in 1970, worked several years as an employed camera operator and soundman for the SWR, a regional public service channel in the ARD network. Later he worked as photographer and back in 1998, through the foundation of his own company starpic Filmproduktion, he started his career as cameraman mainly for the SWR. In 2005, he expanded with his company due to the investment in a digital Avid-cutting room. Since then, he covers the complete technical and artistic supply chain. His work together with Steffen Söhner as director of a documentary and business film has been rewarded each with a Platinum Remi Award at the Worldfest in Houston/Texas. Scientific Advisor
Denis Huschka was born in East Germany in 1975. Between 1995 and 2001, he studied politics and sociology together with Steffen Söhner in Berlin. Since 2002 he has been working for German and international research institutes, e.g. in South Africa. In 2006, he was Chair of the 7th International Congress of the International Society for Quality of Life Studies in Grahamstown/South Africa. Since 2007, he is Managing Director of the German “Council for Social and Economic Data” (RatSWD) and, further, a Member of the Board of directors of the International Society of Quality of Life Studies (ISQOLS). Furthermore, he has held authorized speeches during international symposia on topics concerning South Africa like: "Determinants of life satisfaction in South Africa's transition”, "Taking stock of change under Democracy: Challenges for South African QOL research.”, "A Changing Living Conditions Module for South Africa”. Production Assistant Kerstin Sauer was born in Bavaria/Germany in 1975. After her studies in business management with the focus on international business management, HRM, and tourism, she joined the impulsWERKSTATT in 2006. As production assistant she manages the office and parts of the marketing. During her studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Heilbronn/Germany, she already lived and worked for quite a while in Cape Town/South Africa. Sales Agent Andreas Wolff, born in 1978, was working as a banker for almost ten years, when he sat his A-Levels parallel to his job. He then started studying International Business and Intercultural Studies with the major in marketing at Heilbronn University and at Kajaani University of Applied Schiences in 2004. After he spent six month for an internship in Wales and half of the time he studied in Finland, he wrote his bachelor thesis about marketing within the music industry and achieved a German Bachelor of Arts and a Finnish Bachelor of Business Administration. Andreas joined the impulsWERKSTATT team in 2008.
