Don’t worry, but this short film was just made spontaneously with the handy cam by the producer. In the meantime, the film crew was taking high quality images from inside the Green Point Stadium construction site.

Babalo Mfundisi – junior engineer at Green Point Stadium construction site – is the source of the idea to get workers together during lunch break to pursue their passion of playing soccer.
Each construction area of Green Point Stadium has its own soccer team, i.e.: six teams in total having their own league and tournaments. Due to Mfundisi’s convincing arguments the workers are supported by the management, which is paying for the kits, the playing fields, and the transport to games.
And now they even have the dream of playing the very first match at Green Point Stadium. Mfundisi and all the other workers know that it is a long shot, but they have nothing to lose by asking. So again, he is the man of negotiations – involving all levels of management up to FIFA. Of course, as Mfundisi says: “It’s not an overnight decision. It can either be yes or no. At the moment, I don’t think it will be a no, because first of all we contributed to the success of the Green Point Stadium. That will be our payback for us.”
Will the kick-off match really be down to them? Hang on to find out what will happen!
